Position
Summary:
Implements and supervises phase II and phaseIII cardiac rehabilitation program.
Position
Responsibilities:
o Provides patient testing and assessment before and after rehabilitation.
o Plans and teaches exercise therapy for patients utilizing test data, patient status and current medication regimen.
Monitors patient's response and revises plan accordingly.
o Recognizes contraindications and abnormal patient responses to exercise.
o Responds appropriately to all situations including exercise cessation and referral to medical professionals.
o Provides exercise information for patients, peers and the community which may include public speaking and education classes.
o Collaborates with physician regarding the exercise prescription for each patient.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of monitoring and arrhythmia identification.
o Preparation of report on individual patient to appropriate physician.
Appropriately charts progress in Medical Records.
Maintains appropriate documentation of patient care.
o Develops and maintains in-depth knowledge of the departmental equipment.
Maintains equipment in optimal functioning condition in accordance with manufactures guidelines.
Provides staff with educational in-service for proper and safe use of equipment.
o Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications Licensure / Certification / Registration (Required):
o Certified BLS and ACLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association(AHA) obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date(obtain prior to employment is preferred).
o Certified BLS and ACLS Provider credentialed from the American Red Cross obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date (obtain prior to employment is preferred).

in Exercise Physiology / Science or related degree is required.

Experience:
Basic monitor interpretation skills and must successfully pass dysrhythmia class within 3 months of hire.
ACSM Clinical Certification preferred.
